Other tips for academic success:

1. Seek to pass courses with a grade of A or B. Such an outlook implies that you plan to master the course material completely and profoundly, playing an active role to take control of your learning process rather than acting as a passive member of the audience. TAKE THE COURSE. Don't let the course take you. Read between the lines and ask questions, until you confront the boundaries of your understanding. Then extend those boundaries by answering your own questions or seeking a colleague or instructor who can assist you to answer your own questions. Expecting others to answer your questions may deny you learning opportunities.

2. View a grade of D or F as a serious and compelling reason to retake the course prior to enrolling in subsequent courses which require the course as a prerequisite.
