Web-Based Lab Manuals

By Laboratory Manual Improvement Committee

Web-based lab manuals are a means to improve the laboratory experience for students. Web-based manuals have advantages over paper versions, as they can be kept more current and can contain direct links to product data sheets. This type of integration of computers within labs not only helps provide students with current information, but it also facilitates access to this type of product literature by students outside the classroom. This encourages extracurricular study and facilitates development in senior projects. A web-based manual is currently being used in EE359.

The Laboratory Improvement Committee is responsible for upgrading our lab manuals to revise and enhance learning objectives, and to modify experimental procedures to make the best use of new equipment. The LMIC is currently updating a dozen manuals for our core lab courses.
