Overview:

Approximately 150 students per year take EE 353, EE 445, EE 456, EE 471, and EE 502 courses. In addition to supporting these five courses, the laboratory also provides the necessary equipment for five to ten senior project students to perform their experiments.

Current Problems with the Laboratory:

  • Presently there are eight laboratory benches and one large computer bench for six computer workstations and printers. Some of the equipment in the laboratory donated by Anritsu Co. are less than 1-year old, but most are much older.
  • Essential equipment used on the benches:
  • 6 Anritsu 4622B Vector Network Measurement System
  • 2 Anritsu 560A Scalar Network Analyzer
  • 2 Anritsu 640 Scalar Network Analyzer
  • 2 Anritsu 68197A Synthesized Sweep Generator
  • 4 Anritsu MS 610B Spectrum Analyzers
  • 1 Anritsu MS 2711 Handheld Spectrum Analyzer
  • 8 Fluke 6o6oB Synthesized RF Generators
  • 1 HP8568B Spectrum Analyzer
  • 1 HP8593A Spectrum Analyzer
  • 3 HP8656A Signal Generators
  • 1 HP8753A Network Analyzer
  • 8 HP8754A Network Analyzer
  • 1 HP8720B Network Analyzer
  • 1 HP8720C Network Analyzer
  • 1 HP8410B Network Analyzer
  • 1 HP8757E Scalar Network Analyzer
  • 6 NT Personal Computers with Agilent ADS Software
  • 1 TIMS Communication Systems
  • Various Microwave Frequency Sweep Generators ranging from 0.5 to 20 GHz.
  • Various Microwave Waveguide and Coaxial Components
    • We do not have enough new equipment and some of the old equipment need to be replaced.
    • We need more equipment beyond 3GHZ.

    Equipment Needs:

    • 100KHz-26GHz spectrum analyzers, with one on each bench.
    • Equipment for making antenna radiation pattern measurements.
